Description

The observations should be carried out starting from the pre-flowering stage preferably in young vineyards under the same cultivation conditions where the symptoms can be more frequent and stronger. Greater expression of the deficiency symptoms can occur in the middle of summer on secondary shoots. Observations should be done on the same environment and, whether the case, the vinifera varieties should be grafted on the same rootstock. Main symptoms: - leaves: chlorosis of the edges followed by necrosis; curling of the leaf edges; the mature leaves turn brown (brunissure) in the upper side, but green in the lower side of the blade; - shoots: low development with short internodes and short shoot length; - bunches: rather abnormal shape; unripe grapes. 1 = High incidence of plants with severe symptoms, above all during the springtime. 3 = Medium high incidence of plants with severe symptoms, above all during the springtime. 5 = Few scattered plants with less intense symptoms. 7 = Few plants with very low symptoms. 9 = No visible symptoms in any plants.
