The Consortium now gathers 6 vine and wine companies that continue to promote and support the organisation’s work in R&D and changes its coordinator
The Consortium, who’s agreement was signed in 2021 between Viña Concha y Toro (Chile), Moët-Hennessy (France), Sogrape (Portugal), Familia Torres (Spain) and Yalumba Family Winemakers (Australia), welcomes the new member, MASI Agricola. The 6 companies carry out very important R&D work at the international level thanks to their research centres. They have the objective of contributing to promoting and supporting the Organisation’s technical and scientific diffusion and promoting cooperation between the various actors in the vitivinicultural sector.
The companies in the consortium continue to engage with each other to identify research areas that are consensually recognised as priorities for the grape and wine sector. In the follow up, and in the scope of OIV grants, the consortium will:
- Propose research grant subjects
- Advise during the selection process
- When applicable, host grant recipients
- Develop joint communication actions.
“Having MASI Agricola in the Consortium enriches the research’s quality and widens the international objective of the OIV. The club wasn’t complete until the joining of such relevant Italian company. Italy is one of the cornerstones of wine and it had to be represented. We will all share its knowledge and experience”, said the OIV DG, Pau Roca.

New coordination
After three years coordinating the Consortium, Antonio Graça from Sogrape hands the baton to Marc Brevot from Moët Hennessy, the Robert-Jean de Vogüé Research Center R&D Director. The OIV Director General would like to thank Antonio for his work and wishes Mr. Brevot a lot of success in his new role.
