Blockchain applied to the vine and wine sector
The OIV online course on Blockchain applied to the Vine and Wine sector will happen from 4 to 7 June 2024 (1.30 – 5.30 pm CEST). This extensive four-day course offers a thorough exploration of the subject and is designed for participants with diverse professional backgrounds, willing to advance their knowledge on this cutting-edge technology's applications in the sector.
The program will cover a wide range of topics and case studies including traceability in wine supply chains, smart contracts, NFTs and token economics, Metaverse, DeFi, DAOs, as well as policy and regulatory challenges.
This comprehensive program, blending lectures, insights from esteemed guest speakers, and interactive workshops, equips participants with a profound understanding of how blockchain can elevate transparency, traceability, and operational efficiency within the vine and wine sector.
Who can enroll
The course is designed for up to 50 participants online who have a background in the vine and wine sector and seeking to enhance their knowledge of digitalisation within the sector.
Given the diverse nationalities of the lecturers, knowledge of English will be valued in the selection of candidates, since it will be the working languages of the course.

The OIV joins forces with the Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM), working through the Institute of Zaragoza, to bring an immersive course in water and soil management in viticulture. Mark your calendars for July 1 to 6, 2024, as the CIHEAM Zaragoza headquarters hosts engaging sessions, both in person and online.
Distinguished lecturers from international organisations, universities, and research centers will deliver the course content. Emphasising personal work and interaction, participants will engage with both their peers and instructors. The international focus of the course aims to facilitate the exchange of diverse experiences and perspectives.
The program follows an applied approach, integrating lectures with practical examples, case studies, and a roundtable discussion. Participants will have the opportunity to present case studies on water and soil management in vineyards from their respective countries, contributing to a collective learning experience.

OIV International Ampelography Course
Qu’est que l’ampélographie ? Cette discipline vise à décrire les vignes (variétés cultivées, espèces sauvages) selon diverses caractéristiques (morphologie, aptitudes agronomiques, potentiel technologique, génétique, diffusion et utilisations, etc). C’est un domaine d'étude qui fait partie intégrante de la viticulture (enseignement, recherche, développement).
Qu'est-ce que l'ampélographie ?
Le Cours international d’ampélographie de l’OIV s’inscrit dans un contexte historique global remontant à 1938, lorsque le terme « ampélographie » a pour la première fois été cité par l’OIV. Près de 10 ans plus tard, en 1949, une commission sur l’ampélographie a vu le jour, avec pour objectif de conduire la création d’un Registre ampélographique international.
L'ampélographie de nos jours
En tant la référence technique et scientifique dans le monde de la vigne et du vin, le rôle de l’OIV est de participer activement à la promotion de cette discipline fondamentale, la connaissance du vin résultant de la compréhension de la vigne.
L'objectif principal est à la fois de former des professionnels et des experts dans le domaine de " l'Ampélographie et Ressources Génétiques ", et de créer un réseau de pôles et d'experts qui puissent échanger en permanence autour de ce thème important pour le secteur vitivinicole.
