OIV – (26/02/2014) The President of the Republic of Georgia, Mr Giorgi Margvelashvili, travelled to Kakheti to celebrate UNESCO's acknowledgement of the "Qvevri" winemaking method, recognised in December 2013 as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
OIV – (24/02/2014) The Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture, Mr Dimitar Grecov, met with Jean-Marie Aurand, Director General of the OIV, to talk about setting up areas of collaboration within the context of the 2005-2025 programme for the development of Bulgarian vitiviniculture.
OIV – (21/02/2014) The I Ibero-American Wine Business Forum, organised by the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV), was held on 20 and 21 February in Jerez de la Frontera.

OIV – (18/02/2014) Over recent years, the vitivinicultural industry has been increasingly confronted with problems related to the topic of "food safety and wine". The sector has thus turned to the OIV to obtain harmonised responses that guarantee the protection of consumer health and contribute to the food safety of vitivinicultural products. The 12th Matinée des Œnologues has enabled the OIV to take stock of these issues.
OIV – (17/02/2014) On 15 and 16 February, the Director General of the OIV, Mr Jean-Marie Aurand, took a trip to Moldova for the "Chisinau Wine & Spirits Contest".
