L'OIV accettata come membro osservatore dell'UNCTAD

13 Mar 2024

The UNCTAD, made up of 195 countries,  is the United Nations’ focal point for trade and development, and for interrelated issues in the areas of finance, technology, investment and sustainable development. Its objective is to assist developing countries, especially the least developed countries, and countries with economies in transition, to integrate beneficially into the global economy. It also seeks to help the international community promote a global partnership for development, increase coherence in global economic policy making, and assure development gains for all from trade.

A first collaboration with UNCTAD has already been established in October 2023 during the Vine and Wine World Trade Forum organised by the OIV,  in order to address the issue of non-tariff measures in the vine and wine sector. It was an opportunity to present the important work of UNCTAD through its database on trade regulations in the different member countries of this organisation.

The OIV greets and thanks UNCTAD and its member states for this fruitful collaboration, which will be very useful and consistent in order to support fair conditions for international trade of vitivinicultural products.
