The International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) is currently accepting applications for the position of Data Officer. Job Description: As the Data Officer, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks related to data collection, analysis, and dissemination. Your key duties will include:

 

  1. Administer statistical questionnaires and surveys to gather essential data from various sources.

  2. Receive, review, and accurately input data submissions from Member States and other relevant entities.

  3. Conduct thorough online data research and extractions to supplement existing datasets. 

  4. Ensure data completeness, internal consistency, and plausibility through meticulous checks.

  5. Maintain well-organized technical documentation on data series and contribute to methodological notes on OIV statistics. 

  6. Collaborate in the maintenance and updates of the statistical database. 

  7. Address internal and external data requests and queries promptly and effectively. 

  8. Leverage data to create statistical indicators, graphs, and thematic maps to enhance data visualization.

  9.  Support in the analysis and interpretation of sectorial data to identify emerging trends and key developments. 

  10. Preparing and producing OIV's statistical publications and presentations.

  11. Provide assistance in organizing press conferences and webinars to disseminate statistical information. 

  12.  Contribute to  the work carried out by the OIV Group of Experts of Statistics and related working groups.

Requirements: To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:

 

  • A bachelor's degree in statistics, data science, economics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and data analysis tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the wine and viticulture sector will be an advantage.
  •  Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
