In 2000, the General Assembly, considering Article 5, paragraph 4 of the International Convention for the Unification of Methods of Analysis and Appraisal of Wines dated 13th October 1954, on the propsal of the Methods of Analysis and Appraisal of Wine sub-commission, recognised the Compendium of Methods of Analysis of Wine Vinegars in the interest of establishing an initial reference on this subject. This Compendium may be subject to ammendments and additions (latest update: 2008). Non-validated methods must be validated through joint analysis.
